Week 6

June 23rd, 2024 Wild Horse was about 60 miles straight north of Elko and I was pretty much the only person on the road heading that way. I was only passed by a single car on the way there, which was also the only other car I saw heading north on that road the whole trip. The drive was easy and relaxed except for the patches here and there of Mormon Crickets on the road. […]

Week 5

June 12th, 2024 As I was releasing the leveling jacks I looked down the dirt path that would lead me back on to the road and noticed a couple were walking around down at the end taking pictures. It was Wayne and Carol! They had come up the hill to see me off and spot me while climbing out of the ditch I had dove into to get to this spot. As I approached they

Week 4

I have decided to go ahead and make the push all the way to Angel Lake near Wells, Nevada. The temperature is supposed to be around 90 for the rest of the week, which means it will be more like 100 in the RV when the sun gets high in the sky. Week 3

May 30th, 2024 Back on the road today heading to the next stop. Today the plan is to do some RV tank management and then head to Shoshone Falls Park for the afternoon before making our way to Murtaugh Lake Park. Neither of these places are very far away, so it should just be a series of short, easy drives. Should be. I asked Danny what he thought and he gave me a funny look.

Week 2

March 24th, 2024 I packed up this morning and headed out… before I left I got in some good time with my Bible, finishing off Deuteronomy. I’m making some quick progress on my Bible so far. I think I am definitely on track to meet my goal of finishing it during this trip. Packing up went pretty smoothly… I feel I should note that the ramp that my Dad and I built for loading and

Week 1

May 16th, 2024 Well, here we go!  I set out today for the maiden voyage. I am feeling pretty confident. I have been working on this RV non-stop for months now and I think I have all the bugs worked out. I have plenty of food, full water tanks, empty waste tanks, and full tanks of gas and propane.  My first stop is Balanced Rock park just east of Twin Falls, Idaho. It’s only about

The Plan

May 15th, 2024 I think I’m ready. The RV is all outfitted and everything works. This post will likely end up being a living document where I may come to add various pieces of information pertaining to the process of building the various systems and upgrades to the RV, I’m not sure. I really should have documented that process better. I have pictures of several of the projects I took on while preparing this thing
